Social Media Communication Is Crucial In A Crisis.
DOUBLE, NO, TRIPLE DOWN, ON COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA.
There are companies and individuals who have prepared for this moment – they have the platforms set-up and a good schedule of posts. For you, this is simply a shift in content.
There are other companies and individuals who don’t have the platforms to begin with, let alone a plan to post and share during this time. NOW IS THE TIME.
If you are a company, association, firm, hospital, small business – employees, clients, peers, colleagues, prospects and your community need to hear from you. YOU MUST communicate. If you are a small business, build brand during this time. I know you have worries and fears – but, TRIPLE down on communication, storytelling, sharing and building brand value. Now is not the time to shrink. You have to have emotional intelligence during this time, and not post SALESY or CHEESY content…but you must share intelligently and with a goal.
If you are a HOSPITAL – now is the time to post on ALL platforms. WHY? Your demographic is EVERYONE. Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter AT LEAST. If you aren’t communicating confidence, truth, transparency, needs, ENGAGING with the community who has questions, created an info line or at least a page on your website with links and information that addresses topics specific to your hospital – you need to. Crisis communication is important – but really, in a world of immediacy of information, if you were already on point with social platforms, you are just continuing the conversation.
QUADRUPLE down on video – people want to see leaders in this current storm. The faces of leaders, speaking calmly in the eye of panic, is exactly the type of leadership we all need. LEAD. COMMUNICATE. THANK YOUR EMPLOYEES. COMMUNICATE WITH THEM.
If you don’t have platforms set up – do it today.
