This is so true. Being an entrepreneur is such an incredibly hard, yet gratifying, choice. I have been an entrepreneur for almost 2 decades and it doesn’t get any easier – but it is incredible to watch all that has been built through hard work, dedication, grit, and knowing your WHY. Top tips below.
1. Know your WHY. Without this, you have nothing to hold onto when the days are hard. Ask yourself, WHY do you do what you do?
2. Build your Personal Brand. Anyone in business – CEO of a Fortune to a small start-up to an entrepreneur – you need to share who you are and tell stories…Without that, you fade into oblivion and people don’t know why they should call you.
3. Social media is your friend and ally. How you connect, how often you connect, what you share and being consistent is crucial. Only one platform? Choose LinkedIn – for SO many reasons. I can’t tell you how many times I work with clients who were BIG deals at their companies and then the company shut down, or their division was closed – then what? No connections, no job, and tons of fear. CONNECT NOW, especially when you don’t believe it is important. If you have a social presence, share your value and engage on other profiles – you WIN and are always prepared for the bottom to fall out.
