This is NOT the time for a PR campaign…
ALL BUSINESS – BANKS – LAW FIRMS – RESTAURANTS – HOTELS – PERSONAL SERVICES – ACCOUNTING FIRMS – ORGANIZATIONS – ASSOCIATIONS
PR is going to push you to sell yourself to your community, but if you know brand, you will really understand that BRAND DRIVES EVERYTHING – and BRAND is showing the community you’re here to serve them.
What do you post in times of crisis – or really, anytime? Selling yourself during a crisis is tough – you shouldn’t be ‘selling’ on social media anyway, but sharing value. How do you communicate with your consumers? Do a brand audit – what are you saying that keeps them engaged when they can’t see you? People are looking for GOOD content on social; this is a great opportunity to let them know what you are doing for THEM.
Let’s take a bank for example: what to post?
•Proactive on current legislation?
•Links to IRS and deadline extensions – again, adding value to YOUR community
•Proactive on how to use the mobile apps
•Post: “During these times when you are asked to stay home – we are with you in your home – via mobile apps, social media and Facebook posts. You will receive a ton of information via video and links to important announcements etc…”
•What you are doing for cleanliness IN the bank.
AND USE VIDEO – this isn’t the time to just write in black and white – USE VIDEO ALL THE TIME. People need to see you, bond with you and talk with you. Be confident, speak clearly, have captions, be effective and have emotional intelligence. Do not be a cheesy salesperson.
