Soli Deo Gloria – What does that mean and why is it on your website?
This is a statement that is on each page of the website. I am often asked why it is on there and thought I would write a quick blog to answer these questions.
There are moments in one’s life when one really understands the importance of why we are here. You know the moments that I am talking about…moments like the beauty of a baby’s first cry, or the “I am ok” from a child when you see the car wreck, or the “I DO” moments when one marries a soul mate. Then there are the moments of pleasure from giving, like Christmas morning and a 3 year old daughter, or a warm meal and clothing on a cold night for one who is down and out, or simply holding hands with an aging parent who has lost their way. I have had such moments in my life, those moments when I understand that this life of mine is really not about me, but about the reason for which I even exist.
In the world of fashion, marketing, brand and style, we can easily get lost in a message from companies and people that scream, ‘YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT and EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE YOU.’ You know the commercials and messages that tell you HOW MUCH YOU DESERVE and THE WORLD REALLY TURNS AROUND YOU. I have been blessed by my creator in ways that I can’t even begin to explain. So I choose to share all HE has done for me and my family in everything that I do. It is just so easy to get caught up in the things that do not matter, or to do things half-heartedly. If all things are done to the glory of God, we work for Him and do the best we can in all we do – even on those days we are tired or distracted. The successes are His alone, and we realize every gift, every client, every seminar, every meeting is because of Him and we should honor our commitments personally and professionally with that in mind.
The idea of celebrating a life born into this world 2000 years ago, a life that changed the world forever is so exciting and it is the reason for the CHRISTmas season – and for me, it is the beginning of true Life. So I share where I know all Glory truly falls, it is not on this creature that was created but rather on the creator. I always want to Give God all the Glory, and share with others the hope that is eternal and turn my life into a statement that says: Soli Deo Gloria: To God Be The Glory.
Thank you for noticing my site, and take some time during this Holiday Season to reflect how LOVED WE ARE and know that God loves you, HE always has and HE always will.
On that note, I would like to recommend a great book by one of my favorite pastors who I listen to daily. God Loves You: He Always Has–He Always Will by David Jeremiah.
May God Bless You and Yours,
Mila
