Marketing Teams Should Be Concerned About ONE Thing….
When I hear marketing teams discussing, arguing about, speaking incessantly about logos – yet don’t talk about, or even worse, aren’t concerned with overall brand, I know failure is coming.
Brand is what matters. You think your logos will matter when social media is slowly fading and people are asking, “Hey Alexa or hey Google – Who is the best doctor? Lawyer? Sign company? Hospital? Accounting firm?” Your logo will mean NOTHING – you know how that is going to work? Hey Alexa – and ONE name, ONE company, ONE contact pops up. You know how to get to number one? BRAND. BRAND. BRAND.
I have been in so many rooms listening to comm and marketing people speak ‘intelligently’ about logos – yet they know NOTHING about brand. Failure. I’m glad you want to talk shape and color – you’re about 10 years behind.
If you aren’t concerned with brand – or even know what it means, you will fail and your company will be a non-player in 5-10 years. You think logos carry you? You want to be smart? Start talking about brand – only brand – all day.
Brand is what allows you to win in the long haul. It’s the only thing that matters. Sharing your story, knowing your value as a company or even an individual, understanding that your phone is the TV and your TV is the radio is what matters. It’s not about a logo – it’s all about BRAND.
