How To Appear More Confident in Virtual Settings
ZOOM. How do you build Personal Brand and relationships over a computer? IT IS HARD. This is a great read from @forbes found at link in our bio.
Regardless of COVID, it’s great to know the tips and tricks to video conferencing well. What I would add to this video is that you should be seen when possible and when not awkward…Your voice/face creates a connection that is so much more than just listening in on a web call. It is tough to bond, but smiles can share more than you think. Bonding takes place when people can see you when possible – all that to say, these tips are fantastic – especially about putting your laptop a bit higher up. (Cheat a bit and stack on some books if you must – but eye level is best. Don’t forget to look into the camera when speaking – it’s tough but so much better than looking around!)
Remember handwritten notes are still ‘in.’ Lunch is never a bad idea even if you’re not going back into the office…phone calls with just one team member to bond and talk offline about life and work. Find small ways to still ‘connect.’ At the end of the day, it is still WHO you know, not WHAT you know.
Would love to help you.
