Have you ever met someone who has taken life by the horns, and against all odds become an inspiring example to you and others around you?

August is a month when many of you are preparing your kids to go back to school and part of this preparation includes shopping for clothes.  I have two gorgeous step daughters, 12 and 16 years old, and I know that I will be hitting the racks with them very soon which of course I absolutely love.  It is always interesting to watch how they are so different in their clothing choices, and I want them to look and feel beautiful and confident each time they walk out the door.  I am exceptionally aware that it is important for me to be a part of this process.  I want to be there with them as they develop their own sense of style and individuality as it is so easy for them at their ages to be influenced by everything around them positive and negative.  My hope is that I can be an example of how clothing is an important tool they can use to express themselves in a way that they can be proud of as well as be an inspiration to others around them.

I recently worked with a wonderful woman who had achieved many great things in her life.  She heard about me through a friend of hers and decided to give me a call.  After getting to know her a bit and looking in her closet, I realized that all of the clothing she had was something her mother would have worn and it did not represent her own likes or dislikes whatsoever.  She learned through her mother that clothing was only a necessity, but never realized that clothing is one of the greatest tools we have to inspire ourselves and others around us, to reach for our goals and be the best version of ourselves we can be.  My new friend told me that after our time together, she finally looks in the mirror and sees the woman she was always meant to look like and at 72 years old, she is excited about looking beautiful, sexy and desirable everyday!

Be committed to creating positive change in your life don’t allow circumstances to control you, but decide today that you want to be the best example for yourself, your life, your family and everyone you encounter on a daily basis.  This may be setting a good example for your children inspiring them to be the best they can be because you are a shining model for them.

*Making a true decision means committing to achieving a result, and then cutting yourself off from any other possibility choose today to be that example and inspiration.  Even if you don’t have kids, you are still an inspiration to others simply by the clothing you wear and the image you project.
